At CERN, you won't support safety - you will help shaping it at the cutting edge of science. Take up a paramount role that contributes to the protection and performance of CERN's fixed target experimental areas.br/As a Safety Engineer in the Safety Unit, you will play an essential role in ensuring safe operation and driving continuous improvement in the beam lines and infrastructure managed by the Beams Department. /ph3Functions /h3ulliEvaluate safety requirements and implement risk mitigation strategies for activities, accelerator and beam operation and large-scale projects. /liliAssess compliance of installations, laboratories and workshops through safety audits, inspections and testing. /liliAuthorise activities through safety evaluations and the issuance of safety permits, ensuring CERN's safety rules are met. /liliProvide training and promote awareness on safety-related matters, ensuring best practices are understood and applied. /liliContribute to the continuous improvement of CERN's safety- and quality management, including documentation. /li /ulh3Qualifications /h3ulliMaster's Degree or equivalent relevant experience in the field of Nuclear Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Aerospace Engineering, Process Engineering or a related field. /li /ulh3Experience /h3pDemonstrated experience in: /pulliSafety engineering, risk evaluation and licensing process in complex technical environments such as research facilities or large-scale engineering projects. /liliWriting documentation and quality management for regulated industry. /liliExperience in conducting inspections and incident analyses and their follow-up. /liliLiaison with stakeholders, fostering a strong safety culture through training and communication. /li /ulpThe following are considered as strong assets but are not essential: /pulliExperience or knowledge in Electrical Safety. /liliExperience of working in a multidisciplinary and diverse environment. /li /ulh3Technical Competencies /h3ulliOccupational safety and risk management: including hazard identification and analysis, risk assessment and compensatory measures definition. /liliKnowledge of regulations in matters of operational and radiological safety. /liliInformation and document management in the domain of safety documentation. /liliKnowledge of techniques for incident analysis. /li /ulh3Behavioural Competencies /h3ulliDemonstrating Accountability: standing up for own opinion and actions with well substantiated arguments. /liliManaging Self: working well autonomously; taking on activities and tasks without prompting. /liliAchieving Results: defining clear objectives, milestones and deliverables before initiating work/ project. /liliCommunicating Effectively: delivering presentations in a structured and clear way; adjusting style and content to the audience; responding calmly and confidently to questions. /liliWorking in Teams: building and maintaining constructive and effective work relationships. /li /ulh3Language Skills /h3ulliSpoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the other language. /li /ulh3Additional Information /h3h3Eligibility And Closing Date /h3pDiversity has been an integral part of CERN's mission since its foundation and is an established value of the Organization.
