ph3Job Overview /h3pInternational Bridges to Justice (IBJ) is a not-for-profit organisation that guarantees individuals the right to competent legal representation, protection from cruel and unusual punishment, and a fair trial. IBJ seeks an experienced, results-oriented leader to work with the President and CEO and senior staff to implement its vision. The Deputy Director is a full-time position based in Geneva, Switzerland, and reports directly to the CEO. The role develops and maintains the organisational structure, leads expansion, and supports the CEO in strategic planning and operational efficiency. IBJ is also focusing on its digital transformation across the global network. /ph3Responsibilities /h3ulliWork closely with the CEO to implement the vision, mission, and strategy of the organization. /liliLead strategic and operational planning processes, setting organisational priorities. /liliContribute to the fundraising strategy and oversee all fundraising and development efforts, including drafting proposals. /liliCoordinate the work of all international offices, ensuring consistency with the mission. /liliManage expansion, including new projects and initiatives. /liliLead technology initiatives, including artificial intelligence, to enhance access to justice programmes; overall supervision of the technology team. /liliManage outreach and communication channels. /liliDevelop new networks of supporters and coordinate them to expand outreach and impact. /liliDevelop and manage organisational and operational systems and processes. /liliOversee budgeting, financial planning, accountability, and compliance with grant agreements. /liliSupervise staff, volunteers, and interns; manage HR systems, recruitment, and performance review processes. /liliOversee financial processes: audit, payroll, benefits, insurance, administrative and project accounting, and production of financial statements, narrative, and reports to donors, the Finance Committee, and tax returns. /liliMonitor and lead risk management, including risks from emerging technologies. /li /ulh3Qualifications and Competencies /h3ulliAt least 10 years of relevant experience. /liliExceptional written communication skills. /liliFluent English; native speaker preferred. /liliGraduate degree (JD, MBA, or MPA). /liliDemonstrated leadership, management, and organisational competency. /liliDemonstrated success in operations and project management, including large donor-funded projects. /liliDemonstrated success in development and fundraising in the non-profit sector. /liliExperience supervising and motivating a diverse group across disciplines, including lawyers, in a multicultural environment. /liliGood working knowledge of technological solutions in a legal environment. /liliStrong interpersonal skills. /liliHigh level of responsibility and accountability.Integrity, professional discretion, and the ability to handle confidential matters. /liliExperience in operational growth and development of an organization. /liliStrong planning, time-management, and delegation skills. /liliEntrepreneurial creativity and flexibility in meeting challenges. /liliOptimistic and hopeful personality with a pragmatic can-do attitude. /liliUnwavering commitment to the protection of the rights of the accused. /li /ulh3Compensation /h3pSalary will be commensurate with experience, subject to a non-profit organisation range. /ph3Application /h3pApplications must be submitted by 23:59 CEST on 30 July 2026.
