Job description

We offer an exciting opportunity to an experienced and qualified finance professional who would like to gain more insights to Roche Group’s financial operations. You will be an integral member of the Group Accounting and External Reporting team at Roche’s corporate head office in Basel, Switzerland.

You will be responsible to support the Head of Group Accounting and External Reporting and the team in technical accounting (IFRS) matters. This includes working closely with the Group Consolidation team and collaborating with Group Finance, Treasury, Tax, Legal, People & Culture teams, local Finance Managers, Country Chief Accountants at Roche Services & Solutions, and our Group auditors. In this respect, you will be resolving accounting and reporting questions, giving presentations, reviewing and writing up accounting positions, and reviewing and updating the Group accounting manual.

Location : On-site working in Basel, Switzerland is a pre-requisite.

The responsibilities of the role

Your main tasks are to :

• Support the preparation of the Roche Group year-end and half-year external IFRS consolidated financial statements.
• Undertake the financial closing process for equity-based compensation
• Provide technical accounting advice and support based on IFRS and the Roche Group accounting manual to the Roche finance community.
• Provide transaction support, including Mergers & Acquisitions, divestments and debt offerings.
• Support the implementation of new IFRS and other reporting standards and updating the Group accounting manual as necessary.
• Facilitate internal financial training events at Roche together with other members of the team / network, as well as updating related training materials.
• Contribute to team projects such as ESG Reporting and accounting projects.
• Support the operation of an effective internal control system.
• Identify and implement process improvements on a timely basis.
