Senior Middle Office Analyst

Our client is a renowned, global energy & commodity trading group, with offices worldwide.

The successful candidate will enjoy working as part of the Geneva Middle Office team, responsible for Crude Oil and Oil Product, Freight and other traded products, correct position reporting, pricing, and adherence with trading limits and more

PRINCIPAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE BUT WILL NOT BE LIMITED TO :

• Production of a daily Profit & Loss risk reports for the trading desks and be able to produce a breakdown and explain key drivers.
• Responsible for deal entry, position reporting and adherence to trading limits.
• Manage the risk profile of the trading business in line with the agreed appetite for risk and risk limits.
• Frequent and daily interaction with traders to understand core positions and trading rationale.
• Implement new controls; liaise with IT team to improve and enhance processes.
• Liaise with back office, trade support, accounting, and credit teams.
• Work closely with the trading desk to be able to understand their strategy and challenge them.

SKILLS REQUIRED :

Previous mid senior level work-based Middle Office / Product Control / Risk Management experience in a similar role in an Energy / Commodities trading environment;

ideally with working knowledge of Crude Oil, Oil Products or Freight.

• Ability to work as part of a team; providing expertise and mentoring to junior members.
• Technically competent with ETRM systems and tools.
• Passionate about risk and processes, capable of working with the business lines to embed risk awareness and culture into everyday processes.
• Advanced Excel skills, VBA, Python (would be an advantage).
• Fluent English, spoken and written.
