Your mission

Your mission
We are looking for an experienced, analytically strong, and versatile RWE Senior Data Scientist to join our growing team. This role combines advanced statistical expertise and scientific research with project management and client-oriented consulting.
You will play a key role in the design, execution, and interpretation of real-world evidence (RWE) projects. Working with data from medical registries and other real-world data sources, you will develop appropriate statistical approaches and translate complex results into scientifically robust and actionable insights.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, scientific experts, medical registries, and leading pharmaceutical companies. In addition to providing scientific and methodological expertise, you will take responsibility for managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders and contribute to developing new projects and client relationships.

Your responsibilities

  • Study design and planning: Develop suitable study designs, Statistical Analysis Plans (SAPs), and analytical strategies for a range of research questions and disease areas.
  • Interpretation and evidence generation: Independently interpret results and derive meaningful insights to inform clinical, scientific, and regulatory decision-making.
  • Scientific publications: Contribute to and lead the preparation of scientific manuscripts, abstracts, and conference presentations, from interpreting results through to publication.
  • Project management: Plan, coordinate, and manage multiple projects involving diverse stakeholders, including pharmaceutical companies, medical registries, and clinical experts.
  • Client consulting and business development: Develop project concepts, prepare proposals and presentations, and pitch project ideas to prospective and existing clients.
  • Stakeholder management: Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, team members, healthcare professionals, data partners, and other project stakeholders.
  • Mentoring and team development: Actively involve junior colleagues in projects, share knowledge, provide guidance and constructive feedback, and create opportunities for them to develop their skills, take ownership, and grow professionally.
  • Continuous improvement: Help advance our scientific methods, consulting services, and internal processes, while contributing to the professional development of the team.

Your profile

Required

  • Academic background: A Master's degree in a quantitative or scientific discipline, such as statistics, data science, epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, biostatistics, medicine, or a related field. A PhD is an advantage.
  • Professional experience: Several years of relevant professional experience in statistical analysis, epidemiological research, medical evidence generation, or a related field.
  • Hands-on methodological expertise: Demonstrated practical experience applying statistical methods. Experience with epidemiological research questions and appropriate methods for observational data is particularly important.
  • R programming: Hands-on experience programming in R within the last five years, with the ability to independently implement statistical analyses in a transparent and reproducible manner.
  • Scientific publications: Experience contributing to scientific publications, for example through authorships of peer-reviewed articles.
  • Project management: Experience planning and managing projects involving multiple stakeholders and coordinating different professional perspectives.
  • Language skills: Excellent written and spoken German and English.
  • Working style: Independent, structured, solution-oriented, and quality-conscious, with a high degree of ownership, flexibility, and accountability.

Nice to Have

  • A PhD in a relevant field, such as epidemiology, pharmacoepidemiology, biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in real-world evidence research or regulatory environments.
  • Knowledge of advanced statistical methods, such as causal inference, propensity score methods, or longitudinal data analysis.
  • Experience working with medical registries, routine healthcare data, or other real-world data sources.
  • Experience preparing scientific conference contributions and presenting research findings to scientific and non-scientific audiences.
  • Experience consulting for pharmaceutical companies or other stakeholders in the healthcare sector.

Why us?

  • Unique data access: Work with exclusive real-world datasets and medical registries (e.g. Neurology, Rheumatology, Gastroenterology, Dermatology) across multiple European countries.
  • Science meets consulting: Combine advanced statistical and epidemiological analyses with strategic thinking and client-oriented consulting.
  • High-impact projects: Collaborate with leading international pharmaceutical companies on scientifically and strategically relevant evidence generation projects.
  • Room to shape your work: Take ownership of projects, contribute your own ideas, and actively shape study designs, client engagements, and our service portfolio.
  • Entrepreneurial culture: Benefit from flat hierarchies, fast decision-making, and direct interaction with clients, medical experts, and company leadership.
  • Flexibility and trust: Work predominantly remotely and organize your work with a high degree of autonomy and responsibility. For in-person collaboration, we typically meet one to two days per week at the Digital Health Center (DHC) coworking space in Bülach, Switzerland.
  • Innovation-driven environment: Use real-world evidence to support evidence-based healthcare decisions and advance the development of innovative digital health solutions.
