Test Engineer

We are looking for a test engineer to develop test procedures, run test campaigns, implement continuous integration testing and develop hardware-in-the-loop (HITL) and software-in-the-loop (SITL) test harnesses for our autonomous drone-in-a-box system. You will write software to implement automated tests and evaluation, as well as spend time in the field manually operating the system to put it through its paces. You will take ownership of our existing test infrastructure and build it out as our system grows.

This position is for an on-site employee for our Zurich office.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of and scale our test infrastructure, extending existing capabilities and building new automated test systems and processes
• Drive the implementation and maintenance of SITL and HITL continuous integration tests
• Design and execute flight test campaigns to verify system performance
• Take ownership of rigorously stress-testing the system to identify weaknesses
• Be responsible for creating comprehensive test reports
• Recommend enhancements to improve system reliability and usability

Qualifications

• Experience in requirements analysis, test design, and writing test cases
• Experience with automated testing and simulation tools (GTest, PyTest, Robot Framework, Gazebo, Isaac)
• Programming experience (Python, C++)
• Experience building test infrastructure and engineering tools and processes from an early stage, with the ability to turn loosely defined needs into practical, working solutions
• Experience in test execution, e.g. manual testing, tracking of defects and reporting of results
• Bachelor or master degree in a relevant field
