Specialist Internal Controls

Job Purpose

The Specialist Internal Controls position is responsible for supporting the design, implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of the organization's internal control framework. The role assists in documenting processes, assessing risks, performing control testing, monitoring remediation plans, and coordinating with process owners, auditors, and key stakeholders.

Your profile

Major Accountabilities

• SOX 404 Internal Control Framework Maintenance: Assist in identifying, assessing, and documenting process risks and related controls to ensure key risks are appropriately mitigated
• Control Testing: Perform periodic testing of internal controls and evaluate control effectiveness
• Control Deficiencies & Remediation: Support with assessing, tracking and monitoring control deficiencies, remediation activities, and management action plans to ensure timely resolution
• Risk Assessment: Assist in annual risk assessment and scoping activities to identify areas of higher risk and changes impacting the control environment
• External Audit Coordination: Support external audit activities by gathering documentation, responding to audit requests, and facilitating meetings with stakeholders

Job Requirements

Education:

• Master’s degree in Finance or Business

Experience:

• 3+ years in Finance/Accounting (audit, internal or external, experience is a plus)

Skills/knowledge/behavioural competencies:

• Financial controls testing
• Risk Management
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Problem-solving and clear communication skills
