As a team member of the IT Internal Modelling team within the Risk Delivery & Engineering you will be engaged in shaping the front-to-back logic of running computationally intensive applications which use the state of art technologies such as Python, DataBricks, Docker and Microsoft Azure. The role also contributes directly to building and evolving the system, operating at Senior Python Developer level by combining deep full-stack expertise, ownership of key platform components and strong technical contribution within the domain.
Key duties and responsibilities
Closely work together with IT Technical team to handle automation, incidents, and 3rd level support
Play a key role in the migration of the system towards a new technological web stack, contributing to design decisions and ensuring a smooth and sustainable transition.
Actively contributes to architecture and innovation efforts by introducing modern engineering practices, improving performance, usability and scalability, and challenging the status quo where appropriate.
Introduce and adopt DevOps tools and frameworks that improve developer productivity and strengthen the platform
Act as a technical reference point within the team, mentor colleagues, elevate engineering standards and collaborate closely with Architecture, numerical developers and DevOps stakeholders.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies/industry trends
Required experience & competencies
Deep full-stack expertise with proven ownership of key platform components in a business-critical application environment.
Ability to contribute to architecture discussions, modern engineering practices, platform evolution and continuous improvement initiatives.
Experience mentoring colleagues and acting as a technical reference point for complex development, platform and DevOps topics.
Previous experience on building solutions on the cloud (Azure or AWS)
