Client Onboarding & KYC Specialist (temporary)

For our client, a well-established financial services company in Zurich, we are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join the team for a 12-month fixed-term assignment. In this role, you will play an important part in ensuring efficient and compliant client onboarding, KYC and AML/CFT processes within an international financial services environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate client onboarding activities from initial documentation requests through to completion of the onboarding process
• Act as a point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring all required KYC and due diligence information is obtained, reviewed and appropriately documented
• Perform AML/CFT-related checks and assessments, including name screening and the review and clarification of potential alerts, PEPs, adverse media and other relevant risk indicators
• Ensure onboarding and client review activities are conducted in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements, internal policies and financial market regulations
• Prepare and maintain internal assessments, case notes and supporting documentation relating to KYC, AML/CFT and client acceptance matters
• Coordinate periodic and event-driven client reviews, ensuring that documentation and client information remain complete and up to date
• Maintain accurate client records and oversee the documentation lifecycle throughout the client relationship
• Contribute to projects related to client processes, including the assessment of new business activities and the introduction of new systems, tools and workflows
• Support internal and external audits by preparing relevant documentation, addressing queries and assisting with the follow-up of audit findings
• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on client onboarding, KYC and AML/CFT-related topics

Your Profile

• University degree in Law, Compliance, Finance, Business Administration or a comparable discipline
• 2–3 years of relevant professional experience within financial services, ideally in Compliance, AML/KYC, Audit or Consulting
• Solid understanding of KYC/AML requirements and financial market regulations
• Experience working with international financial markets and different regulatory environments is an advantage
• Strong analytical and organisational skills combined with a structured and detail-oriented working style
• Excellent communication skills and confidence in interacting with both internal and external stakeholders
• Proactive, committed and reliable personality with a strong sense of ownership and a collaborative mindset
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and remain effective in a demanding environment
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Good command of MS Office
