Senior Backend Engineer - PHP / Symfony

Our client is a leading Geneva financial institution, a recognised player in the field of wealth management. As part of strengthening its internal development team, it is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer PHP/Symfony to contribute to strategic projects: CRM, e-Banking, mobile applications and bank card management systems.
You will join a small technical team, in an environment demanding in terms of security and software quality.

Your missions

• Take charge of existing developments and create new features from scratch
• Work on complex systems (card management: transactions, orders, reconciliation)
• Work on multiple databases: PostgreSQL, DB2, SQL Server
• Contribute to architecture and code quality in a high-security context
• Write complete and precise technical documentation

Required technical skills

• Mastery of SOLID, DDD and CQRS principles
• Excellent command of PHP and the Symfony ecosystem
• Good knowledge of SQL/ORM, Git and development workflows
• APIs: OpenAPI, REST, GraphQL
• CI/CD (GitLab or equivalent), Docker
• Microservices and event-driven architecture
• Messaging: RabbitMQ, Kafka or equivalent (asynchronous delivery patterns)
• Ability to produce code compliant with best security practices

Appreciated asset:

• Experience in banking or fintech (cards, payments)

Profile sought

• Engineering degree in computer science or equivalent
• Minimum 7 years of experience in a similar role
• Fluent French essential, minimum B2 English
• Team spirit, autonomy and rigour
• Service-minded, ability to propose pragmatic solutions
• Good management of priorities and deadlines
