ppThe position of artistic director at Künstlerhaus Stuttgart is to be filled as of January 1st, 2024. /p pKünstlerhaus Stuttgart was founded in 1978 by artists to promote practical working conditions, theoretical engagement with art, and cross-disciplinary exchange among artists. By giving space to social and political demands while addressing the most current artistic practices and discourses, Künstlerhaus Stuttgart is today an institution of local and international significance. /p pKünstlerhaus Stuttgart houses exhibition spaces, workshops and seven artists’ studios with changing fellows. We are looking for a director who will build on this structure to develop an artistic program that brings local communities and international agents into exchange. /p pAs a Verein, we have a strong interest in alternative models of presenting and communicating art, as well as experimental formats. /p h3Within the structure of the Künstlerhaus, the artistic director is responsible for /h3 ul lithe independent development and implementation of an artistic program /li lithe logistical and budgetary preparation and realization of the developed program, as well as related events /li liproject financing and the associated acquisition of third-party funding /li lithe conception of the education program within the framework of the Artistic program for which the artistic director is responsible /li lithe documentation of the projects, as well as the conception and realization of publications, if applicable /li lipress and public relations work /li /ul h3What the position requires /h3 ul livery good knowledge of contemporary cultural production /li liinitiative and a high degree of personal responsibility in combination with a strong ability to work in a team /li listrong communication and organizational skills /li lifull professional proficiency in German and/or English /li liproven experience in project financing and cultivating third-party funding /li liexperience in public speaking and excellent verbal communication skills with members, visitors, colleagues, and staff as well as the press and politicians /li liwillingness to make Stuttgart your main place of residence for the duration of your tenure /li /ul pAt Künstlerhaus Stuttgart, the Artistic Director works closely with a dedicated team consisting of a full-time managing director, an accountant, a technical manager, and volunteer members on the board, advisory board, and workshops. /p pThe appointment of the Artistic Director is for three years with the option of a one-year extension. /p pThe Artistic Director is offered an assistant to the extent of half a position. /p pIf necessary, Künstlerhaus offers help in finding an accommodation and supports a German language course. /p pApplications from teams or groups will also be accepted.
