In this role, you will work on backend services, data pipelines and search technologies that support scientific discovery and open access for researchers worldwide. /p pAs part of the Tools and Services team, you will help evolve platforms that manage scientific publications, research data and digital archives. Your focus will be on building scalable backend solutions, improving data processing workflows, enabling AI-driven access to scientific content and ensuring reliable production systems. /p pstrongYour Task: /strong /p ul liDesign, develop and operate backend services using strongPython /strong /li liBuild and maintain scalable data ingestion and processing pipelines for scientific metadata and full-text content /li liModernise existing ingestion workflows and migrate processes to strongApache Airflow /strong /li liDesign and implement robust strongREST APIs /strong for internal applications, partners and external tools /li liDevelop and optimise search capabilities using strongOpenSearch /strong, including indexing strategies and relevance tuning /li liSupport the integration of AI-driven retrieval solutions and Model Context Protocol services /li liImprove data quality through enrichment, deduplication and automated processing workflows /li liContribute to the modernisation of digitisation and archival services /li liSupport large-scale data migrations while ensuring metadata consistency and quality /li liDevelop containerised applications and support modern deployment processes /li liImplement automated testing, code reviews, monitoring and CI/CD practices /li liContribute to open-source software and support the Open Science community /li /ul pstrongYour Profile: /strong /p ul li pUniversity degree in Computer Science or a related field with relevant professional experience /p /li li pStrong professional experience in backend development with strongPython /strong /p /li li pHands-on experience with Python frameworks such as strongDjango, Flask and FastAPI /strong /p /li li pSolid experience designing and developing strongREST APIs /strong /p /li li pStrong understanding of relational databases such as strongPostgreSQL /strong and document databases /p /li li pPractical experience with search technologies such as strongOpenSearch / Elasticsearch /strong, including indexing and relevance tuning /p /li li pExperience with strongDocker, Kubernetes, Git and CI/CD pipelines /strong /p /li li pKnowledge of asynchronous programming, automated testing and software engineering best practices /p /li li pExperience with large-scale data processing, metadata-driven systems and data pipelines /p /li li pExperience with strongApache Airflow /strong or similar workflow orchestration tools is an advantage /p /li li pKnowledge of AI-driven retrieval systems and AI/LLM integrations is a plus /p /li li pFamiliarity with digital archiving, content management systems or scientific information platforms is an advantage /p /li li pStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on developing reliable, scalable and maintainable software solutions /p /li li pProactive, quality-oriented team player with strong ownership and ability to work effectively in multicultural environments /p /li li pExcellent spoken and written English skills /p /li /ulbrpstrongDie Coopers Group AG /strong ist eine strongagile Schweizer Recruiting Agentur /strong, die Spezialisten und Führungskräfte in den Bereichen strongIT, Life Sciences, Engineering und Finance /strong vermittelt.
