Senior Accountant

pCobelfret is a well-established group of dry bulk shipping companies with offices in Luxemburg, Singapore, Switzerland, Miami and Antwerp. We operate worldwide a time-chartered and owned fleet of about 100 vessels ranging from handysizes to capesizes. Due to the continued growth of the group, we are looking for a bSenior Accountant /b to strengthen our finance and accounting team in Switzerland. /p pIn this role, you will be responsible for the accounting of the company and its subsidiaries, ensuring accurate financial records, timely closings and compliance with applicable Swiss accounting standards. You will work closely with internal teams, external auditors and operational stakeholders in an international shipping environment. /p pbYour key responsibilities will be: /b /p ul liManage the full accounting cycle for the company and its subsidiaries, including analytical and multi-currency accounting. /li liEnsure bookkeeping, reconciliations and integration of operating accounts into the general accounting records. /li liPrepare annual closings and statutory financial statements (including notes) in accordance with Swiss GAAP and the Swiss Code of Obligations. /li liPrepare periodic internal financial reporting and support management with accurate financial information. /li liPrepare VAT returns and ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax requirements and support during VAT and other tax related external audits. /li liAct as the main point of contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process. /li liMaintain accurate financial data in the company’s ERP system. /li liSupport supplier payments, payables and receivables follow-up where required. /li liContribute to ad-hoc finance and shipping-related accounting projects. /li /ul pbRequirements /b /p ul liSolid experience in accounting, ideally within the shipping industry. /li liGood knowledge of Swiss accounting standards, Swiss GAAP and the Swiss Code of Obligations. /li liExperience with multi-currency accounting and statutory financial statements. /li liStrong analytical skills, accuracy and attention to detail. /li liStrong ability to meet deadlines and stress resistance. /li liComfortable working with ERP systems; knowledge of Cresus and ODOO is an advantage. /li liAbility to work independently while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. /li liFluent English is required; French is an asset. /li /ul pWe offer you an opportunity to join Cobelfret, a leading dry bulk shipping company a in a dynamic and growing Swiss office.
