Power Analyst

ppbMET International AG /b (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines. /p pbMETI /b is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions. /p pWe are looking to expand the Analytics team by hiring an experienced Power Analyst to support the growth of our power markets analytics capabilities. /p pPotential for a trading career path in 1-3 years based on candidate’s motivation and acumen. /p h3Job Description /h3 ul liMaintain and improve the power market fundamental stack model across European markets. /li liMonitor model inputs and outputs, track model performance, and propose improvements. /li liSupport the power desk with regular short to mid-term fundamental forecasting and analysis. /li liFollow market developments and analyze correlations between energy complex building blocks - CO2 emissions, coal, gas, and power prices. /li liPropose profitable Clear Spark Spread (CSS) and Clear Dark Spread (CDS) trading opportunities. /li liBased on research and statistical analysis, prepare fundamental scenarios. /li liContinuously improve understanding of fundamental power market dynamics (supply/demand). /li liClosely cooperate with traders, gas analysts, meteorologists, data engineers and developers. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liA minimum of 5 years of experience as a Power Analyst, or strong power markets experience in the energy trading / commodities sector /li liPower market fundamental stack modelling experience /li liBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Mathematics; /li liStrong research, analytical, and quantitative skills (econometric and statistical modelling) /li liExcellent presentation and communication skills /li liCoding skills in Python and SQL are an advantage. /li liAbility to explain and communicate complex concepts, translate market analyses into propositions/strategies and to communicate them clearly. /li /ul h3Additional Information /h3 ul liCompetitive remuneration /li liWorking in a dynamic international team /li liHigh degree of responsibility and independence /li liFriendly and modern working environment /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
