The Position

We are looking for a new team member in our Systems Engineering group to help us ensure the development success of our complex diagnostics systems, consisting of fluidics, software, instrument, biochemical sensors and reagents. The person will own and manage system level topics and documentation mainly in the form of risk management, reliability, configuration, and support the alignment and integration of the different system components using Model Based Systems Engineering.

Tasks and responsibilities :

Technical responsibility in key systems engineering disciplines for systems or complex system component development.

Technical accountability for systems engineering deliverables, such as risks, requirements, architecture, concept assessments, configuration management.

Contribution to systems engineering in product development projects

Contribution and writing of development documents, such as : Product / Technical requirements, Traceability analysis (verification), Product risk analysis, configuration management

Drive alignment between components development and integration into one system via interface definitions and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies

Plan, coordinate, and support in execution of test series to evaluate system reliability

Support system testing during design verification and validation activities

Cooperation with other functions inside and outside the project in cross-functional activities, such as with HW and SW Engineering, Operations or Customer Support.

Expected experience :

Bachelor / Master (BSc / MSc) in Mechatronics, Mechanical / Electrical Engineering, Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, natural sciences, or equivalent

Practical experience in system integration by applying technical (engineering) skills, acting as a systems thinker, and focusing on the “big-picture”

Fundamental knowledge of relevant methodologies used in systems engineering and model based systems engineering.

Experience with and understanding of multiple technology domains, methods, etc.

Background in development within a regulated environment, ideally in IVD(R) area

INCOSE certification and / or model based systems engineering is a plus

Practical experience with SysML in general or Enterprise Architect in particular a plus

Experience in system integration of complex multidisciplinary systems a plus

Advanced English language skills, German knowledge is a plus
