Position and Responsibilities
- Perform static and dynamic analyses as well as fatigue and damage tolerance analyses for cabin completion and modification projects
- Support the Team Leader Mechanical Design Engineering to develop working methods to ensure an efficient work flow
- Ensure correct consideration and application of Certification Basis, Rules and Regulations, Means of Compliance and Interpretations
- Ensure adequate communication and liaison internally, especially with the Engineering Team as well as with external Third Parties
Key Aspects of the Activity
Static, dynamic and fatigue calculations of different installations (e.g. interior monuments, antennae installation, additional water tank, etc.) in airplanes with different methods (e.g. Finite-Element-Analysis and hand calculations).Review and approval of drawings and designs for stress aspectsWork out of repairs and modifications in regard of stressConsulting with the mechanical design engineering to achieve light and cost saving structure solutionsDevelopment of technical as well as safety and certification relevant documentation such like reports, analysis, assessmentsEstablishment of FEM models and Structural Substantiation ReportsDevelopment and procurement of material testingDevelopment of engineering standardsRequired Skills and Qualifications
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering, aeronautical engineering or relevant fieldProfound knowledge of fundamental physics, technical mechanics, thermodynamics, aerospace technology and materialsMinimum 5 years structural substantiation experienceProactive behaviour with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English – additionally French and / or German is advantageousExperienced FEM user (Femap). Experience with CAD software (AutoCad, CATIA, Solidworks). Proficient in MS Office. VBA programming skills are advantageous.Ability to work independentlyAccurate and strong attention to detail and safetyIdeally aerospace engineering background, alternatively automotive / transportation experienceWhat we offer (among other things)
