INVESTMENT ANALYST, CREDIT / ALTERNATIVES, 100%

What will you be doing?

• Primary focus is on bottom-up research on single high yield issuers complemented by sourcing and analyzing long only fixed income and alternative credit managers
• Detailed analysis of companies with focus on financial statements, bond documentation, capital structures to identify the embedded direction in credit quality
• Develop and maintain financial models and valuation frameworks to assess earnings, cash flow, leverage and downside assumptions across performing, stressed and distressed credit investment opportunities
• Engage directly with management teams, sell-side analysts and rating agencies for individual credit analysis, as well as with 3rd party fund managers for commingled investments
• Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative fundamental due diligence work on 3rd party managers
• Perform cash management, trade placements and reconciliation for our fund range as part of your assignment
• Help develop data, screening and monitoring tools and perform various inherent data management tasks as well as regular reporting duties
• Support a broad range of activities related to our product offering and contribute to various projects

Your education and background

• University degree in Finance, Economics or a related field. A CFA or CIIA qualification (completed or in progress) is an advantage
• Minimum of 1-3 years of corporate credit experience on a buy-side or sell-side credit platform, or in leveraged finance, investment banking, a rating agency or Big 4 transaction services
• Excellent credit analysis and advanced financial modelling, with the ability to identify the key drivers of credit risk with the thorough understanding of bond structures, capital structures, covenants and credit documentation
• Strong quantitative and IT skills, particularly in Excel. Programming skills in languages such as Python, R, C# or Java are considered a strong advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English; German language skills are a plus
• Proactive, self-motivated team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative
