JOB PURPOSE

An exciting opportunity exists for a world class Technical Manager to join our newly created luxury travel brand “Explora Journeys”. The right candidate will lead our diverse onboard technical team in delivering world class entertainment and enrichment for our guests and crew.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Properly manage experience technical team, equipment and venues at all times, including broadcast and IPTV.
  • Schedule team members properly so all events are executed in a safe and timely manner, with respect to the rest hours and meal times.
  • Maintain the highest production standards through constant presence in venues, and support the team on a daily basis
  • Communicate effectively with the Entertainment Manager, General Manager, Chief Electrician and the rest of the onboard team to resolve any issues.
  • Understand the operation of Sound, Lighting and Video / LED wall equipment throughout the ship, and work with Technical Supervisor and Chief electrician to resolve any equipment issues.
  • Maintain satellite reception and keep the IPTV and onboard public screens content up to date.
  • Maintain BGM servers and music playback throughout the ship.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of related technical equipment ensuring safe working and operational condition, and taking the necessary corrective action when required.
  • Schedule technical team to perform maintenance as required.
  • Coach and develop team members to be motivated and engaged in alignment with the Explora Journeys mission.
  • Execute and Deliver DJ Sets as required.
  • Must be willing to engage authentically with guests, while being a genuine brand ambassador for Explora Journeys throughout the Journey, striving to help guests reach the Ocean State of Mind.
  • Actively support all Crew Welfare activities that require technical assistance including setting up, striking, maintaining, recommending Crew Welfare technical equipment.
  • Perform all additional responsibilities as assigned by the Entertainment Manager.
  • Schedule & manage content for ship wide digital signs and mobile applications.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • A minimum of 2 years experience managing technical teams on cruise ships.
  • A minimum of 5 years operating Audio and / or Lighting in a live performance environment.
  • Experienced with digital audio consoles and live show operation.
  • Experienced with automated lighting console operation, patching and basic lighting design.
  • Experienced with broadcast and IPTV systems.
  • Proficiency in Computers and networking. DANTE, QLAB, Q-SYS, Yamaha Digital Mixers, GrandMA required. Christie Pandoras Box, Magic Info, NDI, Seatel, Cisco receivers preferred. DJ Equipment & Software. Basic Windows based programs knowledge.
  • Proficient in English. Any additional languages, particularly European languages are desired but not required.
  • VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

    A valid passport and seaman book.
