Your Role

We are seeking a Finance Controller to oversee and manage our financial operations in a standalone capacity, taking over the day-to-day accounting operations and contribute to financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements. This role will report to the CFO.

Key responsibilities

Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
• Maintain accurate and timely financial records in Odoo
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with Swiss GAAP (OR)
• Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
• Handle VAT accounting and prepare periodic VAT returns

Financial Reporting & Controlling

• Prepare financial statements and support group reporting requirements
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Support cost accounting and inventory accounting processes
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses and support management decisions

Audit & Compliance

• Prepare documentation for external audits and tax reviews
• Ensure compliance with Swiss accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies
• Help implement process improvements and internal controls

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work with operations, sales, and logistics teams to ensure accurate financial data
• Support ERP improvements and automation initiatives

Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in accounting (preferably in Switzerland or in international companies)
• Strong knowledge of Swiss GAAP (OR) and Swiss VAT
• Proficiency in German and English (both required)
• Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems (Odoo is a plus)
• Ability to work independently, maintain accuracy, and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with inventory accounting, production environments, or FMCG/agriculture
• Familiarity with EU VAT or cross-border transactions
• Exposure to small/mid-size companies or fast-growing environments

Work Conditions

• Onsite work in Breitenbach, Solothurn Canton, Switzerland — accessible by train via Basel and nearby stations in Laufen and Zwingen
