Procurement & Supply Planning Manager 100%
OBJECTIVE AND MAIN TASK OF THE FUNCTION
The procurement Manager is responsible for the entire procurement process, from sourcing to delivery, which includes :
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies for direct and indirect materials for cost optimization, and enhancement of the supply chain efficiency in accordance with company policies.
- Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers based on quality, reliability, cost-effectiveness and adherence to medical device industry standards and companies’ legal requirements.
- Negotiating contracts and terms with suppliers.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and align procurement activities with organizational goals.
- Managing supplier relationships, including ongoing performance evaluation, issue resolution and fostering long-terms partnerships.
- Monitoring raw materials and consumable goods inventory levels, analyzing consumption patterns, and implementing inventory management strategies to manage stock levels and avoid shortages or excesses.
TASKS
- Implement procurement systems and tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency of the team.
- Ensure compliance of the processes according to the company rules and policies.
- Source and negotiate with potential suppliers, assess their capabilities, and evaluate their suitability based on predefined criteria.
- Manager supplier relationships, including regular communication, performance evaluation and issue resolution.
- Analyze raw material and consumable goods’ inventory levels, consumption patterns to optimize stock levels and reduce carrying costs.
- Continuously evaluate and improve procurement practices, including identifying cost-saving opportunities and process enhancements.
- Develop and maintain procurement metrics to track performance, identify areas for improvement and report on sourcing effectiveness.
- Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations related to sourcing activities.
Team Management
- Build and maintain an effective team organization to accomplish company’s goals and objectives.
- Set up team’s goals and objective and communicate in an efficient and effective manner.
- Recruit, interview, hire and train new employees and communicate job expectations and responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.
- Plan, monitor and evaluate job results.
- Develop team members competencies and define clear responsibilities for team members.
- Prepare and conduct performance reviews and follow up on results with team members.
- Provide leadership to the team to solve problems, and conflicts whenever happening.
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Education : Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, or Business Administration or related field is preferred.
APICS CSCP or CPIM certification is preferred.
Green Belt certification is a plus.
Special Knowledge : Previous experience in the medical device industry and knowledge of ISO 13485, GXP requirements is a must.
Very good English skills, and at least a second language, German and / or French is required.
Knowledge of SOX and control applications for expenditures.
In-depth knowledge of procurement principles, and best practices.
Strong knowledge of vendor management and negotiation techniques.
Innate ability to build strong relationships with partners internally and externally.
Proven analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
In-depth knowledge and understanding of Lean principles.
Strong inventory management skills, and ability to plan and set up multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Personality : Analytical mind-set with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Result orientation and ability to solve problems.
Keen sense of responsibility.
Professional Experience : Minimum 5 years of experience as a procurement manager.
