Calculate and review laytime for dry bulk shipments in line with charter party terms
Handle demurrage and despatch claims, ensuring timely and accurate settlement
Analyze Statement of Facts , Notice of Readiness, port logs and cargo documents
Liaise with shipowners, charterers, surveyors and port agents to resolve discrepancies
Manage and track claims files and disputes until resolution
Work closely with the trading desks and legal team to mitigate commercial risks
Monitor contractual deadlines and ensure compliance with industry best practices
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes
Minimum 5 / 7 years of experience in a similar role within commodities trading, shipping, or chartering
Strong understanding of dry bulk operations and demurrage processes
Proven ability to read and interpret charter parties, shipping contracts and laytime clauses
Hands-on experience with laytime calculation tools and Excel
Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English
Rigorous, analytical, and solutions-oriented
Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
Knowledge of sugar or agri-bulk commodities is a strong plus
Familiarity with shipping practices
