Product Support Engineer – Treatment Delivery Imaging
We are looking for a candidate with a strong support mindset to help our customers, Varian Field Service Engineers and Installations Engineers operating Varian products.
You will be a part the Product Support Engineering (PSE) Imaging team responsible for third level support of imaging components on Varian’s linear accelerators. The PSE Imaging team are highly skilled engineers conducting technical investigations, supporting the Field Service representatives, authoring service documentation and providing input & feedback to the R&D organization.
Specific Responsibilities
Conduct technical root cause analysis related to the Varian Medical Systems Imaging products by diagnosing, troubleshooting, and debugging complex systems
Respond to situations where first level and second level field service support was not able to isolate or fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software
Author technical documentation for the Field Service and Installationorganizations
Support new product rollouts and initiate knowledge transfer to the Installation- and Field Service teams
Report design, reliability and maintenance discrepancies to the Engineering teams
Represent the Global Customer Service organization and provide input to the Engineering teams during new product introductions
Desired Qualifications
B.Sc. or M.Sc. in electrical engineering, computer science or equivalent degrees
High level of analytical skills, able to disseminate complex problems to find a root cause
Auto didactic skills to quickly familiarize with new areas
Reliable, tenacious, team-oriented
Fluency in English language, written and verbal
Following qualifications are an asset
Experience in a support role
Experience with Varian Linear Accelerators (C-series, TrueBeam)
Previous exposure to medical physics or image processing
German language skills
You are communicative and eager to support others. You work structured and have an eye for details. In addition, you can express your ideas in a written form. You are used to working independently, but open to discussing ideas and solutions with your colleagues. You thrive in an international work environment and in cultivating your contacts with partners in Europe and overseas.
