JOB PURPOSE

The Social Media Intern supports the wider MSC Cruises’ Social Media Team in implementing the company’s social media strategy and activities – creatively and operationally providing the resource needed to execute tasks on time and at the highest standard. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to develop their skills and gain experience in the exciting cruise and travel industry, working with a growing and ambitious team.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Publishing : Support in the management of publishing and sharing of content across corporate platforms and moderating user-generated content (UGC) across social ecosystem.
  • Community Management : Engage with consumers across the variety of MSC Cruises’ social media touchpoints. Driving engagements, brand love and advocacy.
  • Influencer Engagement :  Liaise and support in all influencer and content creator workstream activities – from review and sourcing, to final briefing.
  • Reporting and Analysis :  Support team members in sourcing social channels performance data, evaluating KPIs for creative analysis and insight development.
  • Cross-function collaboration : Work with other departments (CRM, Brand, Digital, Comms) in the efforts of developing the master editorial plan, intended for distribution to local markets around the world.
  • All-round support : Provide operational help on special projects (such as onboard content productions, ship Christenings etc.) and other basic operations (content uploading, labelling) to the wider social media team.

QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)

  • Fluent in English - strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Studying a degree preferably in Communications, Marketing, Business, New Media or Public Relations.
  • Mandatory agreement is needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • Tactical knowledge of social media (Facebook, TikTok, YouTube and Instagram) – incl. native dashboard insights and publishing functionalities.
  • Intellectual curiosity combined with a creative mind-set, with a curiosity for understanding emerging trends in the social media space.
  • Immediate availability is a strong plus.
  • EXTRA : Knowledge of social analytics tools e.g. Emplifi, Social Blade, Google Analytics
  • VISA REQUIREMENTS (if any)

    EU Passport or Right to work in Switzerland.
