Head of Finance - FINMA regulations

About the role

The Finance team in Zurich is responsible for accounting, regulatory reporting, budgeting, management reporting, accounts payable and tax activities for Sygnum Bank AG in Switzerland and Abu Dhabi.

The Head of Finance will be responsible for all activities beside many together with the local team. The role will report directly to the Chief Financial Officer.

About You

We are looking for a hands-on experienced Head of Finance who enjoys working in a vibrant environment and is not afraid of challenges.

What we offer

• Responsibility for the books and records, in Switzerland and Abu Dhabi.
• Responsibility for the group consolidationand for the correctness of the regulatory reports to FINMA, SNB and Abu Dhabi regulator from a standalone and consolidated perspective.
• Preparation of the annual report.
• Driving the yearly budget process and presenting it to the Audit and Risk Committee.
• Reviewing and commenting on the monthly and quarterly Financials for the Audit and Risk Committee and the Board of Directors.
• Responsibility for the yearly financial and any tax audits.
• Actively contribute to achieving Finance KPIs through a variety of projects and preparation of the quarterly VAT return.

Leading a small Finance team.

What you offer

• University, certified accountant, or similar degree.
• 8+ years of working experience in a Bank or Broker / Dealer in Switzerland.
• In-depth understanding of FINMA regulations from an accounting and regulatory perspective.
• Familiar with taxes in Switzerland, such a VAT or income tax.
• Experience in leading a small team excellent communication skills in English and German are a must.
• Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills as well as a high level of flexibility and adaptability to a fast-paced environment.
• High degree of integrity and openness to feedback.
• Positive, forward-thinking personality with a can-do and hands-on attitude.
• Great team player with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to drive the team forward.
• Some knowledge and experience related to digital assets would be beneficial.
