Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)
Electronics Engineer (m/f/d)
We build the machine that makes the gym obsolete.
TomFit develops and builds patented training machines. A small team, with mechanics, electronics and software under one roof. We are moving from small batches into series.
We are not looking for a theorist. We want someone who thinks a system through, lays out and tests the circuit themselves, and puts a wild idea on the board, into the cabinet and into the machine. The pace is high. A working solution counts more than a concept.
What you will do
- Shape the electronics at TomFit from the ground up: you set the tools, the standards and the way of working
- Rebuild the electronics of our machines — current sensing, cabinet, bus — and take new ideas from prototype and release into series
- Bring sensing and diagnostics into the machines: what they measure, how they spot and report a fault, how service sees which assembly is failing. A lot of this is still open. You build it with us
- Design boards yourself, or lead that work, and bring them up in the machine
- Shape the path into series: EMC, testability, second source, documentation
- Take the technical decisions and own them, with suppliers, hardware and software, no silo
What you bring
- A degree in electrical engineering (ETH, EPFL, university of applied sciences) or an equivalent background with real hardware practice
- You have worked on physical things: in your studies, an internship, a workshop, on real hardware
- You build: schematic, layout, prototype, test and series, through to a running device
- 12/24 V circuits are familiar
- Interfaces are everyday work: CAN/CANopen, SPI, analog sensors, embedded (STM32, Raspberry Pi or similar), and enough software to talk to firmware and the host side as a peer
- Fast and pragmatic, with as much test, documentation and structure as series production needs
- You run your own projects, including suppliers and dates, and you escalate early when something is blocked
- English for the daily work
Nice to have
- . Useful with the workshop and the team, not a requirement
- Current sensing, EMC, cabinet wiring, power electronics
- Sensor integration ( , vibration, temperature, force) and diagnostics: self-test, error counters, condition monitoring
- Linux on the device, or C for test and analysis
- AI as a tool in daily work, and an understanding of what runs on the AI PC in our machines (sensing, coach, inference). Not a research profile
- Startup or SME experience where you actually got to decide
We offer
- Room to decide, build and adjust, without a specification going back and forth
- Ownership with a direct effect on the product. You close the electronics and software gap in the team
- Flexible hours and fair pay
- A small, young team, an open culture, short paths
- AI tools in daily work. AI-first is how we work
- Stay fit: free training on our machines during working hours, for the whole team
- A growing company with a real effect on health
Show us something you built yourself: a PCB, an embedded project, prototype photos, GitHub, or five sentences on a problem you solved. No portfolio required.
