Our client is an established, family-owned industrial technology company headquartered near Zurich. Its systems run at customer sites in more than 60 countries. To keep them reachable and secure, it needs someone who can build and run the networks behind them, and who is comfortable intervening and troubleshooting when a customer's connection goes down.
What you'll do
Set up, run and troubleshoot site-to-site and remote-access VPNs to customer sites (IPsec, OpenVPN)
Configure and maintain firewalls (Fortinet, OPNsense and others)
Design and implement networks at customer sites: switching, routing, VLANs, WLAN
Find and fix network problems together with customers and colleagues around the world, remotely or on site
Install and roll out software on Windows and Linux systems
Build and maintain the internal test and lab networks
Keep network documentation clear and up to date, and help improve how the team works
What you bring
A completed IT or electrical engineering education (EFZ with further training, HF, FH or equivalent)
At least three years of hands-on experience in network or system engineering
Solid knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching and firewalls
Real experience with VPNs, ideally IPsec and OpenVPN
Working knowledge of Windows Server
A calm, customer-focused way of solving problems, including under pressure
Fluent German and English
Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site work
Nice to have
Linux administration
Scripting or automation (Python, Bash)
Certifications such as CCNA/CCNP or Fortinet NSE
A background in network or cyber security
