Founding Operator

Fusionality is building the measurement, simulation and control stack of the fusion energy reactors of the future.

Our technology enables effective and reliable operation, monitoring, and analysis of high-temperature plasmas in fusion devices — which will one day provide clean, practically limitless power to the grid. We have spun out of EPFL’s Swiss Plasma Center and have just completed our pre-seed fundraise.

As we’re hiring the initial team and engaging with multiple customers, we seek a Founding Operator to serve as the founders’ force multiplier and help us navigate the crucial initial stages of the company.

Tasks

• Run Operations: You make sure the non-technical side of the company operates smoothly. From procurement, vendors and contracts to office management, hiring, finance and admin.
• Own a domain: Beyond the day-to-day, you take ownership for one or more of these areas: grants, finance, hiring or contracting.
• Keep things moving: Ensure the connection between engineering, customers, and business side of the company. You sit in key meetings, keep track of what was agreed, and follow things through until they are done.

Requirements

• You have at least 3-6 years of experience and like getting your hands dirty.
• You have demonstrated the ability to successfully drive at least one of: hiring, budgeting, financial forecasting, grant submissions, public tender and/or contracting.
• You’re willing to be the one who follows up. You don’t need to be asked twice.
• You can take on routine tasks and strategic questions with a similar drive and enthusiasm.
• You are thrilled at the prospect of working at a company solving the hardest of tech problems, working to build the energy infrastructure of the future.
