As part of an international software engineering team, you will contribute to the development and maintenance of a Linux-based software platform for next-generation medical devices, helping to deliver reliable and impactful healthcare solutions. /ppThis is a b12‑month contract position /b with the possibility of extension. The role is bhybrid /b, requiring b50% onsite presence in Rotkreuz, Switzerland /b, with flexible working hours and remote work for the remaining time. The preferred start date is bASAP /b, with the latest possible start date being b1 October 2026 /b. /ph3Your Responsibilities /h3ulliDevelop and maintain the custom OS abstraction layer with a strong focus on modern C++ backend development. /liliImplement and maintain the next‑generation system daemon and a family of plugins exposing operating system capabilities through an RPC API. /liliContribute to the continuous development and maintenance of an in‑house Linux distribution for medical devices. /liliSupport software development for innovative medical instruments and digital healthcare solutions. /liliWrite and maintain unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability. /liliRefactor and optimize existing code to improve maintainability and performance. /liliManage Debian packaging, system configurations, and deployment processes. /liliCollaborate closely with cross‑functional teams while taking ownership of technical challenges. /li /ulh3Your Profile /h3ulliMaster's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent qualification. /liliMinimum b10 years of hands‑on experience /b with modern C++ development. /liliStrong understanding of software architecture and backend development. /liliTeam player with a proactive, "can-do" attitude and excellent problem‑solving skills. /liliAbility to work independently and quickly adapt to new technologies. /liliAdvanced English skills with the ability to communicate technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders. /li /ulh3Nice to Have /h3ulliExperience with virtualization and container technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes). /liliExperience with CI/CD pipelines. /liliKnowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform. /liliExperience with embedded software development, hardware drivers, ARM platforms, and hardware/software integration. /liliGerman language skills are considered an advantage. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
