Context
As part of the development of next-generation satellite communication technologies for the aerospace industry we are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative Product Development team based in Lausanne.
You will contribute to the design and development of highly integrated electromechanical systems used in cutting-edge communication solutions. Working in a multidisciplinary R&D environment you will collaborate with experts in mechanical engineering electronics RF systems engineering and manufacturing to deliver reliable high-performance products that meet demanding aerospace requirements.
Your Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer you will take ownership of the complete mechanical development lifecycle from requirements definition and system architecture to design simulation testing and product integration.
You will play a key role in delivering innovative mechanical solutions while working closely with cross-functional engineering teams and external manufacturing partners to ensure product quality performance and manufacturability.
Responsibilities
Mechanical Design & Development
Design and develop innovative mechanical subsystems for complex electromechanical products.*
Define mechanical architecture and evaluate technical trade-offs.*
Create detailed 3D CAD models and assemblies using SolidWorks.*
Perform mechanical and thermal simulations to optimize product performance and reliability.
System Integration
Collaborate closely with Mechanical Electrical RF and Systems Engineering teams.*
Ensure seamless integration of mechanical components within highly complex systems.*
Support prototype assembly testing validation and troubleshooting activities.
Technical Leadership
Define work packages and support project planning and execution.*
Identify technical risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.*
Produce clear technical documentation and communicate engineering solutions effectively.
Manufacturing & Quality
Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Design for Assembly (DFA) and Quality by Design principles.*
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to ensure efficient product industrialization.*
Contribute to product validation qualification and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Profile
Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Strong expertise with SolidWorks 3D and EPDM.*
Solid experience with thermal simulations and thermal management solutions.*
Experience working on complex systems involving mechanical electrical and RF integration.*
Background in designing products for harsh or highly regulated environments such as aerospace defense or advanced industrial applications.*
Knowledge of ANSYS Mechanical Discovery Icepak or Mathcad is considered a strong asset.*
Hands-on engineering mindset with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.*
Strong technical documentation and communication skills.*
Professional proficiency in English both written and spoken
