Altogether, PSI employs 2300 people. /ppFor our High Performance Computing and Emerging Technologies group within the Science IT, Infrastructure and Services department we are looking for a /ph3Your tasks /h3ulliServe as the main systems engineer for PSI’s WLCG Tier-3 cluster computing infrastructure supporting the CERN CMS experiment /liliOperate, maintain, and improve Linux-based research-computing services and infrastructure /liliSupport and interact with the Swiss CMS computing user community using the Tier-3 infrastructure /liliCollaborate with the national WLCG Tier-2 center operated by the Swiss National Supercomputing Center CSCS /lilicontribute to the shared operational responsibilities and mutual backup within our HPC/HTC services for PSI /liliContribute to the planning and evolution of future Tier-3 and Tier-2 infrastructure and services in preparation for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) era /li /ulh3Your profile /h3ulliStrong expertise in Linux systems administration within production or research-computing environments /liliExperience with automation and DevOps practices, including configuration management tools such as Ansible or Puppet, scripting in Bash and Python, Git-based workflows, and preferably CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code concepts /liliExperience with monitoring, troubleshooting, and debugging complex system and software issues in production environments /liliStrong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills /liliFamiliarity with batch systems, distributed computing infrastructure, container technologies, or high-throughput computing environments is advantageous /liliFamiliarity with WLCG infrastructure and services or scientific computing environments is a plus /li /ulh3We offer /h3pOur institution is based on an interdisciplinary, innovative and dynamic collaboration.
