Product Owner - Search (f/m/d)

In the role as Product Owner - Search, you will own the product vision and delivery of one of Digitec Galaxus's most impactful user-facing surfaces. You work at the intersection of data, relevance, and UX within a cross-functional team of engineers, leads, and designers - translating search intelligence into measurable improvements for millions of shoppers. You operate with high autonomy in a flat, trust-based engineering culture where outcomes matter more than output.

Deine Aufgaben

• Own the product roadmap for your team's domain, from discovery and prioritization through to delivery and measurement
• Define, prioritize, and maintain a well-structured backlog in close collaboration with the Team Lead, designers, and engineers
• Lead product discovery - facilitate workshops, user research syncs, and cross-team alignment to shape initiative direction before committing to solutions
• Partner with stakeholders across Search, UX, Data Science, and other product areas to align on goals and manage expectations
• Track and interpret product KPIs (e.g. CTR, exit rate, conversion) to drive data-informed decisions and evaluate initiative outcomes
• Collaborate with engineers as peers - providing strategic direction while trusting the team's technical judgment and avoiding micromanagement
• Identify and challenge architectural or process constraints that limit the product's ability to scale or improve
• Keep stakeholders informed with clear, transparent communication - shielding the team from noise while maintaining appropriate visibility
• Actively contribute to team culture, methodology improvements, and knowledge-sharing within the broader PO community

Deine Fähigkeiten

• 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager or in a similar digital product roleBachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
• Experience working in agile product teams and managing product backlogs
• Solid understanding of search technologies, including relevance, ranking, indexing, filtering and query processing
• Experience using product analytics, interpreting A/B test results and making data-driven product decisions
• Familiarity with APIs and the ability to discuss technical concepts and trade-offs with engineers
• Knowledge of ML/AI-powered search, including vector search, hybrid search, embedding models and LLM-based retrieval, is a strong plus
• Experience designing or optimizing search experiences, including filters, product listings and instant search, is an advantage
• Strong ownership, collaboration and communication skills
• Fluent in English; German is a plus
• The capacity to adapt to ongoing changes in the work environment
• A willingness to challenge «how things have always been done» and propose more efficient, automated or effective solution
