ph3Health Safety Manager, Data Center Health and Safety /h3 pJoin the world‑class safety culture at Amazon Web Services (AWS) and support the largest cloud‑computing infrastructure team as a Health and Safety Manager. You will own the Health and Safety function for your area, improving the safety of our data centers, advancing safety culture, and protecting our employees. Each day you will work with data‑center engineers working with electrical switching equipment, large‑scale air‑handling mechanical systems, and critical IT gear. /p pYou will collaborate with experts in security, construction, operations, logistics, compliance, corporate counsel, and human resources to further the global health‑safety program. Partners will include employees, contractors, construction managers, onsite physical security, vendors, compliance officers, risk management, and fire/life safety systems. You will advocate for safe changes in a fast‑paced environment where new infrastructure, tools, and processes are continuously introduced. /p pYou must be an effective communicator—verbal, written, and in public speaking forums—advocating clear, concise messages. You will advise, instruct, and train personnel on safety policies and procedures and help teams incorporate and improve safety standards at their sites. /p pTravel is required for domestic and international assignments. You will report to the Regional Safety Manager – EMEA and will help enhance the safety of operations and construction. /p h3Key Job Responsibilities /h3 ul liImplement safety standards, policies, and best practices. /li liProvision and manage training: induction, refresher training, develop and deliver training presentations to achieve HS objectives; ensure all HS training requirements are fulfilled. /li liCollaborate with vendors (general contractors, sub‑contractors, emergency services) related to operations and construction. /li liEnsure compliance with global safety programs and local regulatory legislation. /li liDevelop and review safety plans for on‑site emergencies, special events, and other unique safety situations. /li liPerform safety data analysis and create benchmarking. /li liMaintain safety record keeping and provide accurate reporting and metrics for business safety initiatives. /li liConsult with compliance teams on safety regulation interpretation and investigations. /li liDevelop and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to risks and prevent injury. /li liAdapt to fast‑paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, strategy, and deadlines. /li liProvide safety support to regions outside the local cluster when required. /li liOther duties as assigned. /li /ul h3Basic Qualifications /h3 ul liOccupational Safety Specialist in accordance with Swiss Law Art. 11(d) VUV or Occupational Engineer or safety professional meeting the 25 November 1996 Ordinance on the Qualification of Occupational Safety Specialists. /li liPossession of the federal exam qualification for occupational safety and health specialists as per the Examination Ordinance of 7 August 2017. /li liMinimum 5+ years of field experience in safety. /li liFluent in English and German. /li /ul h3Preferred Qualifications /h3 ul liGood knowledge of the MSST directive and local HS regulation. /li liConsiderable knowledge of local safety and health regulatory laws and practices and workplace safety. /li liExperience implementing safety programs, processes, and procedural documentation. /li liSafety experience in data center, manufacturing, construction, or similar industries with a mix of full‑time employees and third‑party contractors. /li /ul h3About the Team /h3 pWe’re the people who keep the cloud running.
