Stellenbeschreibungph3Scientific Assistant in Antenna Array Design and Testing /h3 pWe are seeking a research assistant to join our IDEAS team in Zurich to design, implement, and test high-performance antennas and antenna arrays for next‑generation wireless systems. The role supports 6G, satellite communication and electromagnetic sensing projects and requires experience in antenna and PCB design. /p h3Project Context /h3 pNext‑generation wireless systems rely on sophisticated antenna arrays that need to be co‑designed with electronics. The role supports calibration, beam management, and null steering of array systems. /p h3Responsibilities /h3 ul liDesign, implement, and refine antenna and antenna array designs in commercial PCB technologies. /li liDesign, implement, and refine antenna array PCB boards to realize operational systems in cooperation with wireless ICs, including RF routing, DC supply, biasing, grounding and digital programming. /li liDevelop test‑control PCBs for antenna arrays. /li liSet up measurement environments and support automated testing of antenna arrays with wireless ICs. /li liLead the execution and analysis of antenna test campaigns to validate performance under various operating conditions. /li liDocument and investigate test anomalies. /li liPrepare formal test reports for internal reviews and project deliverables. /li liDevelop and maintain automated test frameworks to improve repeatability, traceability and testing efficiency. /li /ul h3Qualifications /h3 ul liMaster’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Microelectronics, or a related field. /li liPrior experience in applied electromagnetics and antenna design. /li liPrior experience in printed‑circuit board (PCB) design. /li liExperience in microwave engineering and advanced electromagnetics is a plus. /li liElectronics testing experience using Keysight and RS equipment is a plus. /li liExperience working in fast‑paced research environments. /li liHighly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently. /li liMotivated to contribute to a collaborative and interdisciplinary research environment, with a strong commitment to technical excellence. /li liHigh professional integrity, maturity, and a constructive working style. /li liExcellent communication skills in English. /li /ul h3Employment Terms /h3 pOne‑year fixed‑term contract at an 80–100 % workload, renewal possible depending on performance and funding availability.
