We are seeking a Fractional General Counsel for a Swiss technology company. The GC will act as the primary legal business partner to the Commercial Product and People teams supporting the business throughout the customer lifecycle: negotiating commercial agreements enabling new product launches and developing and enhancing contractual frameworks. The GC will also advise on employment law matters and oversee legal topics relating to data protection tax and financial regulation in collaboration with specialist advisors. Fluency in English and at least one of French or German is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Draft review and negotiate commercial agreements including SaaS customer supplier partnership and service agreements.
• Review and negotiate contract amendments for a diverse customer base ranging from SMEs to large Swiss enterprises.
• Develop and modernize contractual frameworks to support new products commercial initiatives and cross-selling opportunities.
• Act as a trusted legal business partner to the Sales Product HR and Leadership teams providing pragmatic and commercially focused legal advice.
• Advise on Swiss employment law matters including employment agreements incentive plans and employee share or stock option schemes.
• Oversee legal matters relating to FINMA regulation data protection tax and financial indemnities coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts where appropriate.
• Drive the optimization of legal processes contract management and AI-enabled legal workflows.

Your Profile

• Masters degree in law (MLaw lic. iur. or LL.M.); admission to the bar is an advantage
• 5 years of experience in an in-house legal department and/or a leading law firm.
• Strong experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts particularly SaaS technology and service agreements.
• Experience supporting technology fintech or regulated businesses is highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of Swiss employment law including employee incentive and equity plans.
• Familiarity with the Swiss regulatory framework including FINMA requirements and the ability to coordinate specialist legal advice where required.
• Passionate about technology and highly proficient in the use of AI tools such as Claude ChatGPT or Microsoft Copilot to improve legal workflows and productivity.
• Commercially minded hands-on and collaborative with the confidence to work independently and build strong relationships across the business.
• Fluent in at least two of the following languages: English French and German.
