that cancer control remains a priority on the global health and development agenda. /p h3About the role /h3 pThe Senior Finance Manager is responsible for leading UICC’s finance function and providing strategic financial leadership to support organisational sustainability, governance, risk management, operational performance and informed decision‑making. /p pThe role has overall responsibility for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, financial reporting, audit management, compliance and internal controls across the organisation. /p pWorking closely with the CEO, COO, Senior Management Team, Treasurer, and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee, the Senior Finance Manager provides financial advice to maintain the highest standards of financial stewardship and governance and contribute to the long‑term financial sustainability of the organisation. /p h3Key responsibilities /h3 h3Strategic finance and business partnering /h3 ul liAct as a trusted adviser to the CEO, COO and Senior Management Team on financial strategy, organisational sustainability, resource allocation and the financial implications of strategic decisions /li liContribute to strategic reviews and long‑term financial planning to support organisational objectives and sustainable growth /li /ul h3Financial planning, budgeting and performance management /h3 ul liLead the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting cycles across all organisational programmes and functions /li liMonitor financial performance and provide regular financial analysis, variance reporting and recommendations to management /li liDevelop financial models, dashboard and performance indicators to support decision‑making and organisational planning /li liProduce monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for management, annual report, governance bodies and external stakeholders /li /ul h3Governance, Board and Committee support /h3 ul liServe as the principal finance liaison to the Treasurer and the Finance, Audit and Risk Committee /li liPrepare financial reports, presentations and supporting papers for Finance Committee and Board meetings /li liPresent financial performance, forecasts, risk assessments and recommendations to the Finance Committee and governance bodies as required /li liMaintain and support the continuous improvement of financial governance frameworks, policies and procedures /li /ul h3Risk management and internal controls /h3 ul liSupport the management in maintaining and overseeing the organisational risk register /li liSupport the COO in coordinating risk assessments, monitor mitigation plans and report key risks to management and governance bodies /li liStrengthen internal controls, financial policies and compliance processes across the organisation /li liSupport business continuity planning and broader organisational risk management initiatives /li /ul h3Treasury and investment oversight /h3 ul liManage organisational liquidity, cash‑flow forecasting and banking relationships /li liOversee liquidities investments, reserve management and foreign exchange risk management activities /li liMonitor investment performance, prepare and present reporting for management and governance committees /li /ul h3Financial reporting, audit and compliance /h3 ul liOversee financial accounting operations and statutory reporting requirements /li liEnsure compliance with Swiss regulatory requirements and Swiss GAAP FER21 reporting standards /li liLead the coordination of external audits and support internal audit activities /li liEnsure accurate and timely financial reporting and regulatory compliance /li /ul h3Systems, processes and continuous improvement /h3 ul liLead finance systems enhancement and process improvement initiatives /li liDrive automation, standardisation and optimisation of financial processes and reporting /li liEnsure data integrity and effective utilisation of financial systems /li /ul h3People leadership /h3 ul liManage and develop the finance team including an accountant and a finance coordinator /li liProvide financial oversight of legal, payroll and finance systems support activities /li liSupport employee development, performance management within the finance function /li /ul h3Candidate profile /h3 h3Skills and experience /h3 ul liUniversity degree or equivalent experience to reach master level in finance, accounting, business administration or related field /li liMinimum 8-10 years of professional experience in finance or controlling role /li liExperience managing or significantly contributing to systems implementation and process improvement projects, ideally including ERP environments would be an asset /li liProven track record of efficiently managing financial and accounting principles, Swiss GAAP FER 21 would be an asset /li liExcellent verbal and written communication skills; able to present and influence senior‑level stakeholders, able to translate financial information into clear recommendations for non‑financial stakeholders /li liStrong leadership and people management skills /li liExperience working in a multicultural environment /li liStrong time‑management and organisation skills /li liStrong negotiation and networking skills /li liAbility to maintain confidentiality /li liFull professional proficiency in English and French is required
