Stellenbeschreibungph3Job Description /h3 pAt Hitachi Energy Research, we are shaping the energy systems of tomorrow. As the power grid evolves into a complex, digital “system of systems” integrating renewable energy, power electronics, and distributed assets, ensuring long‑term reliability and availability becomes a central challenge. /p pWe are looking for a Scientist in Reliability Modelling to drive innovation in system‑level reliability modelling and lifecycle optimization of power grid components and system, large‑scale power grid infrastructures, including emerging application in challenging environments to help development of sustainable energy sources and their integration to the power grid of the future. /p h3How you’ll make an impact /h3 ul liDrive the translation of innovative ideas and advanced methodologies for reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS) modelling integrating single‑asset physical knowledge into modelling to represent interdependencies, redundancy, and system‑of‑systems behavior. /li liContribute to methodologies such as Reliability‑Centered Maintenance and reliability twin concepts for decision‑making under uncertainty with far‑reaching impact on GW level power systems over decades of operation. /li liCollaborate with a global and interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers across research and business units to identify, shape, and solve impactful industrial challenges. /li liBuild relationships within the company and actively share your knowledge and expertise. Interact with local and global external partners including universities, technologies and product suppliers. /li liDisseminate your results in scientific publications, patent applications, and technical reports. /li /ul h3Your background /h3 ul liPhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, Reliability Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Physics, or related field. /li liSystems thinker capable of bridging component‑level physics and system‑level performance. Strong expertise in system‑level reliability modelling (RAMS, RBD, FTA, Monte Carlo, stochastic modelling). /li liExperience with complex engineering systems (energy, aerospace, automotive, or similar high‑reliability domains), including knowledge of maintenance strategies and lifecycle optimization for repairable systems. /li liFamiliarity with power grid technologies (HVDC, substations, converters) is an advantage but not strictly required. /li liProven track record at top scientific conferences and journal publications. /li liExcellent communication skills in English, team player attitude, initiative and creativity. /li /ul pQualified individuals with a disability may request a reasonable accommodation if you are unable or limited in your ability to use or access the Hitachi Energy career site as a result of your disability. You may request reasonable accommodations by completing a general inquiry form on our website. Please include your contact information and specific details about your required accommodation to support you during the job application process. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
