Job Description
Responsibilities
Cost Calculation and Analytics (~60%)
- Build and maintain advanced Excel models to calculate Cost of Goods Manufactured for NPI, lifecycle changes, and footprint scenarios.
- Consolidate and validate inputs from Engineering, Project Management, Marketing, Sourcing, Operations, and Finance.
- Run scenario/sensitivity analyses (make vs. buy, site transfer, volume ramps, supplier switch, FX impacts) and provide clear recommendations.
- Ensure documentation, version control, and auditability of all cost models.
- Align costing assumptions and standards with Finance (rates, overheads, allocation methods).
Operations Footprint and Strategy Support
- Support make-or-buy decisions with quantified cost baselines and risk/benefit views.
- Contribute to global network assessments and strategic projects (e.g., plant openings/closures, transfers).
- Assess new products from a financial and risk perspective; provide costing inputs to gate reviews.
Process, Data, and Continuous Improvement
- Own and improve operations master data relevant to costing (BOM attributes, routings, work centers, rates, scrap factors, lot sizes) in partnership with plants/IT.
- Review and improve operations processes related to costing; define templates, governance, and cycle-time targets.
- Assess maturity of production sites from a data/process standpoint and drive corrective actions.
- Coach and mentor stakeholders on cost drivers, Excel modeling standards, and decision-quality inputs; contribute to talent development.
Qualifications
Must-have
- Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced/Expert Excel skills (complex formulas, PivotTables, Power Query; scenario/sensitivity analysis). VBA or Office Scripts is a plus.
- Experience in cross-functional project management.
- Strong analytical and communication skills; structured, detail-oriented working style.
- Experience in change management.
Nice-to-have
- SAP experience (BOMs, routings, work centers, costing/CO module, master data).
- Exposure to manufacturing operations, NPI/industrialization, or network transfer projects.
- Power BI or similar for visualization; basic Python for data preparation.
- Experience improving data quality and process governance across multiple sites.
