Stellenbeschreibung
We are bringing on a Business Analyst - Intern to support our current engagement with a key partner. Our client is a Zurich-based logistics firm that is currently modernizing their internal systems to move away from legacy manual tracking and toward a more structured database approach. You will help our team understand the specific operational needs of their staff so we can build tools that actually fix their daily frustrations. This is a full-time, fully remote position where you will work closely with our developers to turn messy business requirements into clear, buildable plans.

About Pixel Systems
Pixel Systems is a small, remote software agency that builds the tools teams actually use to get work done. We do not do flashy consumer apps or marketing sites. Instead, we focus on the practical stuff: admin panels, CRM integrations, and the database migrations that most teams try to avoid. Our clients come to us when they need to replace a sprawling spreadsheet with a real database or get different software tools to communicate with each other.
We believe that working code is better than a perfect plan that never ships. Our approach is straightforward. We provide fixed quotes before we start, we do weekly demos, and we hand over everything when we are finished. We use reliable, well-tested technologies like Node, React, and Postgres because we want the software we build to be stable and easy to maintain. We are a team of experienced developers and designers who prefer solving real operational headaches over chasing the latest trends.

The Role
As an intern on the business analysis side, your main task is to act as a bridge between the client and our technical team. You will spend much of your time digging into how the Zurich-based logistics team handles their daily tasks. This means looking at how they currently move data from one place to another and spotting where the bottlenecks are. You will not just be taking notes: you will be helping us map out the logic for new software features.
  • Interviewing users to understand how they currently manage freight and inventory data.
  • Mapping out data flows between different internal spreadsheets and the new database.
  • Writing clear, simple descriptions of how a specific software feature should work.
  • Testing our internal builds to make sure they match what the client asked for.
  • Helping to organize the project backlog and keeping task descriptions updated.
  • Creating walkthrough videos and basic documentation to help the client use the tools we build.
  • Assisting with data cleanup tasks to prepare for migrations.
  • Participating in weekly demos to gather feedback from users.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who is organized and naturally curious about how businesses operate. Since this is an internship, we do not expect you to have a long career history, but you should be comfortable with the basics of how software and data work together. Most importantly, you need to be a clear communicator who can explain a problem without using jargon.
  • A strong sense of organization and attention to detail.
  • The ability to write clearly and concisely in English.
  • A basic understanding of how databases are structured.
  • Comfort with using Excel or Google Sheets for more than just simple lists.
  • A willingness to ask lots of questions until you understand a process.
  • The ability to work independently in a fully remote environment.
  • Interest in logistics, operations, or how physical goods move around the world.
Helpful background
While not strictly required, it is helpful if you have some exposure to the tools we use every day. If you have used any of these in a school project or a previous internship, mention it when we talk. This position is a paid role, and we offer pay that is competitive for this level of experience and the remote market.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or how to write simple database queries.
  • Experience with project tools like Trello, Jira, or GitHub.
  • A basic understanding of how APIs allow different software to talk.
  • Some familiarity with diagramming tools to create flowcharts.
  • Previous experience in a customer-facing or support role.
Working at Pixel Systems
Working here is different from working at a large tech company. We do not have layers of management or complex hierarchies. You will work directly with the people building the code. We are a fully remote company, which means we value asynchronous communication and trust you to manage your own time. We do not care about how many hours you are sitting at your desk: we care about the quality of the work you produce and whether it helps our clients solve their problems.
Our culture is built on being helpful and direct. When something is not working, we talk about it plainly and fix it. You will see the impact of your work immediately as the tools we build go into the hands of warehouse managers and operations teams. It is rewarding work for people who enjoy seeing how technology can improve a physical business.
We are a small team that likes to stay focused on the work itself. We do not have long, unnecessary meetings or complex internal politics. If you enjoy digging into the details of how a business works and want to learn how to translate those needs into real software, you will fit in well here. This internship is an opportunity to learn the practical side of software development and business analysis in a supportive, remote environment.
