Head of Functional Communications

ph3Team for Career Site /h3 h3Talent /h3 h3In short /h3 pWe are looking for a seasoned internal comms expert with direct experience in leading strategic communications and standing up business partnership models to serve internal functions – including deskless audiences. /p pReporting to the Global Head of Internal Communications, the Head of Functional Communications will partner with regional and functional leaders across the business to build team culture and disseminate important information. Whether capturing stories about our culture or helping teams navigate change, this leader will drive impactful communication strategies from start to finish. /p pThis role will be highly embedded in On’s unique and entrepreneurial culture; collaborating with multiple teams to optimize information flow and bring great messages to life. /p h3Your mission /h3 ul liWriting messages for global audiences on key topics related to our strategy and culture. /li liCo-leading On’s approach to change and crisis management, and how big messages make their way into teams’ daily activities. /li liDeveloping a sub-audience approach that uniquely serves the needs of our store population, regional teams, and leadership layers. /li liLeading executive communications for key leaders at On across business functions, including live speaking moments and written messages. /li /ul h3Your story /h3 ul li10+ years of experience working in creative and multi-disciplinary roles across Communications, Change Management, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field. /li liStrong writing skills. No matter the subject, you are able to easily identify a story and bring it to life in a clear and compelling way – through talking points, slides, videos, and other mediums. /li liThought leadership. You bring big ideas – and the strategic acumen to actually make them happen. You are skilled at translating your vision into words; bringing peers and stakeholders on board. /li liExecutive experience. You have extensive experience working with senior leaders and have played a central role in building executive personas. /li liTeam leadership. You are a passionate people leader, accustomed with charting growth paths and strategic vision for the team members you support. /li liCreativity. Ideally, you bring expertise in at least one relevant audiovisual format (video, audio, graphic design, animation) and find energy in a brainstorming session. /li liCollaborative mindset. You enjoy leading large, cross-functional projects and tackling ambiguity with organization. /li liTons of motivation. You are a self-starter; skilled at proactively pitching ideas and getting them off the ground. You’re always picking up new skills and happy to operate in the weeds. /li liIndustry knowledge. You regularly follow media trends and are highly analytical; able to learn systems easily; identify gaps; and problem solve accordingly. Experience using Slack and G-Suite apps is a plus. /li liEnglish fluency.
