Associate Director, Commercial Insights & Analytics
International Operations, Zurich
The Position
We are looking for a commercially minded, analytically rigorous Associate Director to join the Commercial Insights & Analytics function in International Operations -Strategic Office Corporate Affairs team. This role sits at the intersection of strategic intelligence and senior stakeholder partnership, translating complex market data into clear, decision-ready insights that shape diabetes brand strategy and portfolio priorities across IO markets.
You will act as a trusted insights partner to the IO senior stakeholders, own the IO in-market forecasting project design and execution, and lead the competitive intelligence agenda. The position will be based in Zurich Switzerland.
Responsibilities
Drive IO In-Market Forecasting
- Own end-to-end in-market forecasting for IO, including methodology design, assumptions governance, and delivery of robust market projections.
- Partner with Business Finance and Commercial teams to align forecasts with ABP/RE planning cycles and ensure alignment on key assumptions.
- Continuously improve forecast accuracy through data quality enhancement, model refinement, advanced tool utilization and integration of leading indicators.
Senior Management Insights Partnering
- Serve as the primary insights partner to IO senior leadership, proactively surfacing market intelligence to support strategic decision-making and investment prioritisation.
- Translate complex insights into executive-ready narratives and conduct fact-based business cases, including materials for investor relations, board reviews, and cross-functional planning cycles.
Diabetes Insights Expert
- Act as the dedicated insights partner for the IO diabetes brand team, providing deep analytical support across the portfolio lifecycle, with market data, market research, and commercial analytics.
- Drive situational analysis for diabetes brand strategy — synthesising patient, prescriber, and market dynamics to identify opportunities, risks, and strategic imperatives.
Market Performance KPI Guidance
- Define and govern the IO market performance KPI framework, ensuring consistent measurement and interpretation of market performance across affiliate markets.
- Proactively review and upgrade performance dashboards and reporting cadences for senior leadership, enabling rapid identification of performance trends.
- Provide guidance to affiliates on KPI interpretation, benchmarking, and data standards.
Competitive Intelligence
- Drive the IO competitive intelligence agenda closely collaborating with HQ CI team, with the focus on activating and synthesizing affiliate intelligence
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in business discipline e.g. Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, etc
- 8+ years of experience in market insights, analytics, or commercial intelligence within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry
- Strong commercial analytical ability to run business case formulation, forecasting modelling, and synthesise complex, multi-source data into clear executive narratives and strategic recommendations.
- Strong expertise in pharmaceutical market analytics, including IQVIA data, patient-level analytics, primary market research, and forecasting methodologies.
- Deep understanding of the diabetes and GLP-1 competitive landscape.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders
- Highly adaptable with the ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced and evolving operational environment
- Professional level written and spoken English
Desirable:
- Experience with forecasting tools, BI platforms (e.g. Tableau, Power BI), or advanced analytics techniques.
