Stellenbeschreibungp pBio-Rad is looking for a hands-on EHS Specialist to be the primary EHS resource at our Cressier manufacturing site (~300 employees), operating in a regulated Medical Devices environment. You will work with autonomy on the ground while being functionally supported by the EMEA EHS Manager. /p pThis is a site-facing role. You will be visible on the floor, trusted by operations, and capable of owning the full EHS scope — not managing from a desk. /p pstrongKey Responsibilities: /strong /p pstrongOccupational Health Safety: /strong /p ul liConduct risk assessments, safety audits, and workplace inspections across production, QC, logistics, and engineering areas /li liInvestigate and report incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; drive root cause analysis and corrective actions to closure /li liManage the occupational health programme in coordination with SUVA and relevant cantonal authorities /li /ul pstrongEnvironmental Compliance: /strong /p ul liEnsure site compliance with Swiss environmental regulations and corporate environmental standards /li liMonitor and report environmental KPIs; manage waste streams, chemical storage, and spill prevention /li /ul pstrongEmergency Response: /strong /p ul liMaintain and update the site emergency response plan /li liCoordinate fire drills, first aid organisation, and emergency response teams /li liInterface with local authorities (fire brigade, cantonal inspectorates) /li /ul pstrongChemical Hazardous Substances Management: /strong /p ul liMaintain chemical inventory and safety data sheet (SDS) library /li liEnsure proper labelling, storage, and handling of hazardous materials; manage substitution plans where applicable /li /ul pstrongRegulatory Reporting EHS Management System: /strong /p ul liManage SUVA and OFEV reporting obligations /li liMaintain EHS documentation, legal register, and permit tracking /li liSupport internal and external audits (ISO 14001 / 45001 or equivalent) /li /ul pstrongTraining Culture: /strong /p ul liDesign and deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and role-specific safety training /li liAct as a visible EHS reference point for operators, supervisors, and managers /li liDrive a proactive safety culture — moving the site from compliance to ownership /li /ul pstrongbrWhat You’ll Bring:br/strong /p pstrongExperience Background: /strong /p ul li5–10 years of EHS experience, with a significant part in a manufacturing environment (Life Sciences, Chemical, Medical Devices, or similar regulated industry strongly preferred) /li liDemonstrated ability to operate as the primary EHS contact on site /li /ul pstrongEducation: /strong /p ul liDegree in EHS, Engineering, Natural Sciences, or equivalent /li liRelevant EHS certification (e.g. CFST/ASST, NEBOSH, or Swiss equivalent) required or in progress /li /ul pstrongTechnical Skills: /strong /p ul liSolid working knowledge of Swiss EHS legislation (OPA, LTr, LPE and associated ordinances) /li liFamiliarity with SUVA processes, cantonal authority interfaces, and Swiss permit frameworks /li liExperience with EHS management systems (ISO 14001 / 45001 or equivalent); audit experience is a plus /li /ul pstrongLanguages: /strong /p ul liFrench: fluent (working language on site) /li liEnglish: fluent (corporate and EMEA reporting) /li liGerman: strong asset — direct access to German-language regulations and supplier/authority contacts /li /ul pstrongWho We Are: /strong For 70 years, Bio-Rad has focused on advancing the discovery process and transforming the fields of science and healthcare.
