Hospitals and clinics run on software just as much as on people. As Application Engineer you make sure the clinical applications that doctors nurses and lab teams rely on every day patient information radiology imaging and laboratory systems run smoothly talk to each other and keep improving.
You sit at the crossroads of IT and healthcare: part problem-solver part integrator part trusted advisor to clinical teams. Your work has a direct impact on the quality of care patients receive.
What you will do
Keep critical applications running You manage key healthcare applications (PIS RIS PACS LIS) and make sure they stay stable secure and easy to use. When complex incidents arise you analyse them coordinate the fix and make sure the problem doesnt come back.
Connect systems and improve workflows You turn the needs of clinical and business teams into concrete system improvements. You build and maintain the interfaces and data flows between applications test and roll out changes and train users so new features actually get used.
Be the link between people You work daily with doctors clinical staff IT colleagues and external software vendors. You translate between "tech" and "clinic" coordinate change requests and make sure everyone stays informed.
Contribute to security and quality You help ensure applications meet IT security standards and data protection requirements support access management and contribute to risk and quality assessments.
Shape the future You take part in exciting projects: new system rollouts integration of newly acquired clinics and digital and AI initiatives.
Requirements
- A degree or professional education in IT computer science healthcare informatics or a related field
- Experience in application engineering application management or healthcare IT
- Hands-on knowledge of healthcare information systems (PIS RIS LIS or PACS)
- A solid technical foundation: applications infrastructure networks IT security
- Strong analytical skills and a structured hands-on way of working
- The ability to communicate clearly with both clinical users and technical teams
- Comfort working independently in an international multi-stakeholder environment
- Fluency in English plus German or French
Nice to have:
- Experience in the Swiss healthcare sector
- Knowledge of clinical workflows or other regulated environments
- Certifications in IT service management project management or IT security
