Directly supervise Custodial Supervisors, and custodian personnel as necessary. Establish cleaning schedules and procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations and grounds. /p h3Major Responsibilities and Duties /h3 h3Custodial Management /h3 ul liEstablish and oversee schedules and procedures for the regular custodial care of all district facilities during the school year, as well as during holiday and summer breaks. Prepare schedules and supervise summer custodial projects, including cleaning and refinishing floors. /li liManage the interview process and hiring of all custodial personnel. Make assignment changes and arrange for substitute custodians as needed. /li liWork cooperatively with principals and facility managers to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations. /li liMeet daily with Nighttime Supervisors and review all areas that need additional attention and improvement. /li liInspect all district buildings and facilities and initiate cleaning and repairs as needed. /li liProvide training and orientation to all custodians in cleaning procedures and proper use of chemicals and equipment. /li liDirect and assist in setting up facilities for special events. /li /ul h3Safety /h3 ul liInstruct assigned personnel on proper and safe use of equipment and chemicals. Immediately report any on-the-job injuries and assist personnel with required paperwork regarding Workman's Comp protocols. /li liOperate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. /li liEnsure that equipment is in safe operating condition. /li liFollow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc. /li liCorrect unsafe conditions in the work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to the Director immediately. /li /ul h3Inventory and Equipment /h3 ul liManage the Custodial Supplies and Equipment budgets to include purchases of ALL custodial supplies for the fiscal year. /li liConduct periodic inventories of existing equipment and repair or replace equipment as necessary. Test and recommend new custodial supplies and equipment for District consideration. /li liPrepare, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for custodial equipment. /li liConduct monthly inventory of supplies and insure that the Department maintains adequate stock. /li /ul h3Other /h3 ul liWork irregular hours and respond to after-hours emergency calls as needed. /li liAssist in recruiting, screening, selection, training, and evaluation of custodial personnel. /li /ul h3Supervisory Responsibilities /h3 pSupervise and evaluate the work of custodian personnel district wide. Ensure safety training is provided to all new employees, and to existing employees on an annual basis. /p h3Working Conditions /h3 h3Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors /h3 pFrequent walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting and carrying. Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces, and ladders. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures, dust, toxic chemicals and materials.
