Infrastructure Solutions Architect

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Solutions Architect to join our Infrastructure & Operations organization. In this strategic role, you will design, govern, and drive the implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient enterprise infrastructure solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

As a trusted technical advisor, you will translate business requirements into robust technology solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity requirements, operational excellence objectives, and long-term technology roadmaps.

This role requires deep technical expertise, strategic thinking, strong stakeholder management skills, and hands-on architectural leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Enterprise Architecture & Solution Design

• Design scalable, secure, highly available infrastructure solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Develop and maintain enterprise architecture standards, reference architectures, design principles, and governance frameworks.
• Produce high-quality architecture documentation, including solution designs, system diagrams, integration patterns, and technical specifications.
• Ensure infrastructure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency, resilience, and business value.

Strategic Technology Planning

• Collaborate with Infrastructure & Operations leadership to define and evolve the enterprise infrastructure roadmap.
• Translate business strategies into scalable technical architectures and implementation plans.
• Perform technology assessments, feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.
• Identify opportunities for automation, platform modernization, consolidation, and operational optimization.

Technical Leadership

• Provide technical leadership across infrastructure programmes and strategic initiatives.
• Lead Proof of Concept (PoC) activities and technology evaluations.
• Review and approve solution designs created by engineering teams.
• Act as the highest technical escalation point for complex infrastructure challenges.
• Mentor engineers and promote architectural best practices across the organization.

Stakeholder Management

• Partner closely with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure Engineering, Security, Application Development, Operations, and business stakeholders.
• Present architectural recommendations and investment proposals to senior leadership.
• Facilitate architecture review boards, technical workshops, and governance meetings.
• Build strong relationships across technical and business teams to ensure successful project delivery.

Continuous Improvement

• Oversee the successful implementation of approved infrastructure solutions.
• Drive automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
• Support disaster recovery, business continuity, resilience, and high availability planning.
• Monitor industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent professional experience.
• Relevant industry certifications are considered a strong advantage.

Professional Experience

• Minimum 7 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering, Systems Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Operations, or similar technical roles.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Infrastructure Architecture, or Technical Architecture within enterprise environments.
• Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-scale infrastructure solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience working in highly regulated and security-conscious organizations is an advantage.

Technical Skills

Required

• Deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure architecture across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, particularly VMware.
• Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration platforms, especially Kubernetes.
• Solid understanding of enterprise networking, including routing, switching, firewalls, DNS, load balancing, and software-defined networking.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise storage technologies, backup, disaster recovery, and high availability architectures.
• Deep expertise with public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure and/or Google Cloud) and cloud-native architectures.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps methodologies, automation frameworks, and monitoring/observability platforms.
• Strong understanding of enterprise security principles, infrastructure governance, and architectural best practices.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with enterprise automation and orchestration platforms.
• Familiarity with Zero Trust architecture and modern cybersecurity frameworks.
• Experience designing multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to lead cross-functional technical teams and influence strategic technology decisions.
