Scientist in a QC Bioanalytical Lab (m/f/d)

Join our client, a leading research-driven biopharmaceutical company, and play a key role in ensuring high-quality analytical testing and compliance within a dynamic laboratory setting.

Our client is seeking a motivated scientist with a strong technical background and hands-on experience in biochemical analytical methods to join their Biologics Analytical Department in Lucerne/Schachen, Switzerland.

The Biologics Analytical Department supports the Biotechnology Division by performing release and stability testing of biological drug substances, as well as ongoing study support and quality monitoring to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards. In addition, the team is responsible for testing of raw materials, starting materials, and in-process samples used in the production of biologics.

Your main accountabilities include:

• Implementation and execution of analytical testing of drug substance release, stability and characterization for biologics under GMP/GDP
• Support of analytical method validation and transfers, write technical protocols and report.
• Troubleshoot methods to ensure seamless method qualification & execution in the laboratory
• Support equipment maintenance, calibration and qualification & periodic review.
• Works in accordance with applicable internal company regulations: safety, health and environmental protection.
• Improvement of methods and troubleshooting around equipment and procedures.
• Release and stability testing of biologics to determine relative potency according to cGMPs
• Documentation of activities in an electronic laboratory notebook according to cGMPs
• Supporting equipment maintenance and calibration activities

Qualifications:

• Education as a laboratory technician EFZ, a scientific bachelor’s or master’s degree
• Hands-on experience with Capillary electrophoresis (Sciex PA800 Plus) and isoelectric focusing (Maurice, BioTechne), protein concentration determination (SoloVPE and UV) and compendial testings. Detailed knowledge of chromatography data system usage for electrophoresis methods (Empower)
• cGMP working experience
• Strong oral and written communication skills in English and German, at least B1 – B2 in both languages
• Ability to work in a team environment with cross-functional interactions

Preferred experience and skills:

• General knowledge of protein biochemistry and/or biochemical analytical techniques of proteins or with any biophysical methods
• Analytical method validation/verification and transfers
• Broad understanding of analytics of Biologics

Additional information:

• Home office & hybrid working: This position is fully on-site (100%), primarily due to the lab- and process-related nature of the role
• Language requirements: English and German, minimum level B1–B2 in both languages
• Contract duration: This is a 12-month contract position, planned to start in June, with the possibility of extension
• Type of employment: Temporary staffing
