StellenbeschreibungppbPosition: /b School Health Professional / Licensed School Nurse – Substitute /p pbDate Posted: /b 4/3/2025 /p pbLocation: /b District Wide /p pbDate Available: /b ASAP /p pbClosing Date: /b Until Filled /p h3Position Summary /h3 pUnder direction of the Building Principal with support from the District’s Health Service Coordinator (LSN), the School Health Professional provides direct school nursing services; oversees a school health office, assists in planning school health programs; and serves as a resource person to staff in the building. /p h3Essential Functions /h3 ul liDevelop, oversee, and evaluate the school health program within a secondary school. /li liAssist the District’s Health Service Coordinator in developing, implementing, and evaluating a system to identify and provide for the health needs of all students. /li liImplement a health protocol for students with special health care needs, including the administration of medications and other medically directed treatments. /li liProvide first aid care and medically prescribed services. /li liScreen and conduct health assessments for students and staff. /li liComplete district health reports for submission to local, county, and state officials as required. /li liMaintain security of school health supplies. /li liServe as a resource person on health issues. /li liMonitor compliance of the school health program with federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and policies. /li liCorrespond with parents on health needs of children. /li liPrepare health reports and implement procedures as directed by supervisor and/or health department (county and/or state). /li liPromote and assist in communicable disease control through immunization programs, early detection, monitoring, and reporting. /li liProvide health‑related instruction in the classroom, as directed. /li /ul h3Other Functions /h3 ul liPerform other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as apparent or assigned. /li liAttend training sessions, conferences, seminars, department and district meetings. /li liServe on district committees, task forces, work groups, etc., as requested. /li liKeep abreast of changing developments, trends, health laws, rules, procedures, and processes to help insure district compliance. /li liDemonstrate preparation and skill in working with students from diverse cultural, economic, and ability backgrounds. /li /ul h3Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required /h3 ul liLicensed as a Registered Nurse by the MN Board of Nursing. /li liWorking knowledge of the principles, practices, and ethical standards of nursing; relevant state and federal laws, rules, and regulations; and applicable district policies and procedures. /li liAbility to deal effectively and appropriately with students, parents, and other educational professionals regarding student health concerns and problems. /li liSkill and ability to communicate both orally and in writing. /li liConsiderable knowledge of child growth and development. /li liPrefer bilingual (Spanish). /li liMeet professional nurse requirements of school, district, and state. /li liKnowledge of relevant technology. /li liMust have the ability and proven ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis. /li liAbility to establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. /li /ul h3Physical Requirements /h3 pRegularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. /p h3Equal Employment Opportunity /h3 pIt is the policy, practice, and commitment of District 197 to provide equal employment opportunities for all people without discrimination on the basis of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, age, marital status, disability, public assistance, veteran status, or sexual orientation. /p pPlease contact Human Resources if you need financial assistance for your pre‑employment screening. /p /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
