Minimum requirements include: /p ul liCompletion of a two-year IDFPR-approved program in speech‑language pathology assisting to qualify for a speech‑language assistant license. /li liSuccessful passage of the licensure test and payment of the application fee. /li liA valid speech‑language pathology assistant license, required in any Illinois setting. /li liCompletion of 10 hours of continuing education every two years (renewal cycle). /li /ul pbKnowledge Skills /b /p ul liRead, analyze, and interpret professional periodicals, journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. /li liEffectively present information and respond to questions from groups. /li liWork with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical solutions. /li liDefine problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. /li liInterpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables. /li liApply current research and theory to instructional program. /li liPlan and implement lessons based on District and school objectives and the needs and abilities of assigned students. /li liEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with students, peers, parents, and community. /li liCommunicate clearly and concisely both orally and in writing. /li liPerform all duties with awareness of District requirements and Board of Education policies. /li liRegularly sit and occasionally walk and stand. /li liClose vision is required. /li liAbility to hear conversations in quiet or noisy environments and differentiate between bells, buzzers, etc. /li /ul h3Duties and Essential Job Functions /h3 ul liParticipate in teacher and parent conferences, including multidisciplinary conferences, IEP meetings, and annual reviews. /li liImplement IEPs for all students eligible for special education and related services in speech and language impairment. /li liProvide in‑service programs to parents, teachers, students, administrators, and other professionals. /li liComplete required documents and reports. /li liParticipate on child study and teacher assistance teams. /li liFacilitate curriculum and instructional modifications. /li liParticipate in continuing professional education. /li /ul h3Other /h3 ul liPerform other duties as assigned. /li /ul /p #J-18808-Ljbffr
