Our Team

As part of the wider European Gas and Power business the Gas Trader will provide proprietary trading strategies in NW European gas markets. The candidate would be expected to have a deep understanding of European gas and a proven track record in speculative gas trading.

What You Will Do

The European Gas Trader will work as part of a team of traders and analysts to grow the portfolio outside the current capability in NW Europe.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Ownership of the portfolio for European gas proprietary positions in European gas markets. Part of this portfolio should include a cross-commodity element to include gas to coal trading.
• Develop new customers and find market problems to solve in line with Koch Guiding Principals of mutual benefit.
• Communicate with the wider commercial team to maintain and develop desk trading strategy and POV.
• Drive the development of new gas analytics and future strategy development.
• Maintain and support fundamental research on the European energy markets for Koch.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Several years trading NWE gas markets with a proven track record of value creation.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of gas market balancing dynamics and European gas market infrastructure.
• Knowledge of technical trading strategies
• Accomplished at building a diversified strategy approach to Risk deployment.
• Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience of European gas market fundamental analysis.
• High level of intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to work accurately and efficiently.
• Entrepreneur in nature.
