Be part of the underwriting team in charge of processing underwriting submissions for business written in our Brussels and Zurich offices.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with underwriters, promote current standards and best practices, and actively support selected underwriting activities.
- Assist underwriters throughout the underwriting process by downloading and filing documentation, maintaining tracking sheets, conducting sanctions screenings, and ensuring compliance with internal underwriting guidelines.
- Prepare contracts for signature and manage overall contractual documentation.
- Accurately and timely enter risk and contract information into the administration system.
- Prepare reports and briefing materials for conferences, client meetings, and business visits.
- Collaborate with the team of underwriting assistants to maintain consistent standards and processes and provide mutual support during periods of high workload.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders across Claims, Accounting, Finance, and Tools & Process Development departments to ensure efficient communication and coordination.
- Contribute to delivering excellent service to clients and brokers.
Your profile
- Previous experience in the retail or financial services industries, ideally as an underwriting support with basic knowledge of reinsurance and contract structures.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and work under pressure during renewal seasons.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy when handling data, documentation, and administrative processes.
- A strong willingness and ability to quickly learn new technologies, tools, and methodologies.
- Comfortable working collaboratively in a team environment while also managing responsibilities independently.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with a structured and process-oriented approach to work.
- Proactive and reliable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken; additional languages are considered an asset.
- A strong interest in potential carer development within Ageas Re, building on the base gained as an UW assistant
