The Position
As Site Product Development Manager you will define and deploy the product / technology / IP strategy with associated technology and product roadmaps for both the Aero and Energy markets to ensure long-term profitable growth and you will lead and develop the Parker Meggitt Fribourg Product Development team with a clear objective to serve both markets.
The main responsibilities for this role are :
Department Management
- Lead the Parker Meggitt Fribourg Product Development organization and maintain alignment with business strategy
- Establish proper governance incl. KPIs, leadership cadence, Daily Touch Point, Team Improvement Board
- Manage staff recruitment, performance, development, talent and training processes to ensure the team competencies and capabilities are aligned with the business needs
- Own the budget of the department (all projects, cost center, AFE, FTE)
- Ensure a robust engineering load vs. capacity forecasting, planning, and execution process
- Ensure daily actions are in line with budgets, make decisions, prioritize actions and escalate if required to stay within allocated budgets
Product / Technology / IP strategy definition and deployment
- Interact with customers to ensure that existing and future needs of our customers are understood and promote our capabilities
- Define and deploy the product / technology / IP strategy with associated technology and product roadmaps for both the Aero and Energy markets to ensure long-term profitable growth
- Define and deploy the functional strategy in alignment with MPSD Division
- Deliver on key product development and technology development projects against set EIS / market go-live plan, defined non-recurring cost, and target recurring cost
- Protect and proactively manage IP (patents, infringements, technology watch, etc.)
- Own and drive the Simple by Design process to increase product margins by reducing recurrent cost
- Provide strategic oversight and decision making for all development projects
- Represent and sell Parker Meggitt Fribourg with customers and Parker stakeholders
- Build strong relationships with MPSD Division and Parker Aerospace Group
- Support M&A project as required
Your Profile
- University / Higher degree in Engineering / Technical field
- EMBA or equivalent
- Proven experience of 10-15 years in a Leadership role, in high-tech / complex engineering industries with intellectual property management
- Experience in Aerospace industry is a strong asset
- Fluent in both French and English
- Lean expertise (certification would be best)
- Highly analytical and structured with a good level of conceptual thinking
- Ability to understand and contextualize customer needs
- Very good business acumen
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent leadership skills with ability to influence and engage at all levels to drive vision and purpose
- Excellent communication, change management and decision-making skills
